Prince Harry masters the art of playing poker!

London: Prince Harry has certainly relished life at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy, as in addition to winning several accolades for doing well there, the newly commissioned army officer from the Royal camp has also mastered the art of playing poker with help from his Army pals.

The 21 year old learnt a form of the game called Texas Hold’em by fellow cadets at the prestigious army school in Surrey, and soon amazed everyone with a spectacular winning streak.

However, despite this, he has not been able to cash in, as strict rules ban recruits from playing cards for money.

“Harry didn’t have a clue how to play at first, but he’s taken to it like a duck to water. He is part of a card school that get together most nights and is an absolute whizz," The Sun quoted a Sandhurst source, as saying.

“Playing poker has become as much a part of Army life as cleaning your boots. Most soldiers and recruits set up games in their rooms in groups of four or more and relax with a few beers. Harry’s seen as one of the lads and he thought playing poker would be a good way to fit in,” the source added.

Harry, who has a 30million fortune, had earlier resisted the lure of playing for money at the military academy in Berkshire, but friends fear his newly acquired interest may tempt him to take it again once he joins the Blues and Royals.

“Although we are not allowed to play for money, it does go on. Harry’s not short of a few quid so I’m sure there will be lads who’ll want to see if they can supplement their wages," said an insider at the regiment, based at Combermere barracks in Windsor.

“But he’s not stupid, I’m sure he’ll be wary. It is not as if he needs the money. To him it’s just a bit of fun,” the insider added.
